Yeah … that third photo, in which your friends are looking out across the tundra, is especially striking. The shape of their clothing and their posture makes them look just like turn-of-the-century gold miners, or circa-1916 mountaineers looking for an access route to Denali. In fact, nearly every shot has that feel of a historic Alaska photo. Very cool. Hope you put them in a book someday.
thanks for the positive comments everyone… i was really pleased with the way these photos came out – oddly enough, they make the landscape look a little more ominous and extreme than it felt at the time.

You have enough striking images to put together a show. I would recommend checking out mpix.com for printing your images. They are connected with Millers and do decent quality prints for a pretty reasonable rate. What’s best, too is they have lots of fun sizes like 8×8 and 5×10.

Amazing photos.
You can’t find your way to that kind of space from Juneau.
Jealous am I.

These pictures are AMAZING! I think I want a pet caribou. Though I’d like him alive, living in Tel Aviv and dog-friendly.

I love the photos–especially the second one. Makes me want to drive on that road. Where is it??

It is the Dalton Highway (or Haul Road) to the oil fields of Prudhoe Bay.

I’m not a hunter or fan of hunting, but those are incredible photos. Well done.
