It is a beautiful day here in Douglas, the sun is almost shining and the rain is absent from the sky. I’m ready to take the pup out for a walk, but not before the launch of this new blog, Muskegger.

Some might be familiar with the name – its roots were as the Juneau Empire’s natural resource blog where I worked as a reporter covering environmental and business news. With the change of Web address venue also comes many other changes – most of which will be seen over time. Just please note that this blog has absolutely zero affiliation with any news source in Alaska or any other state. I am just another journalist with a blog.

I plan to use this blog as a way to continue writing and to tell stories about planned and dreamed-about adventures. I’ll also ruminate on political events and environmental news.
